bull pontius haar
is a tactile, slightly surreal object, depicting a large, downward-hanging head.
A head that withdraws, bows, becomes grateful —
or simply waits to be washed.
The object invites touch: to comb, to stroke, to braid.
The work is made of hackled flax,
a material that uncannily resembles human hair.
From an early age, this has been, for me, the hair from the Timotei commercial.
It reveals how perception shifts:
once seen, it cannot be unseen — flax becomes hair.
The work moves between art and design — and tilts.
